Get married inside a donut shop? Yes please! Jodie and Alicia had an intimate wedding ceremony inside Voodoo Doughnuts at the Universal Orlando CityWalk location, and it was the sweetest thing! I was honored to not only photograph the whole thing, but to also make a fun day out of it. I also stayed at a resort onsite at Universal and after the all day elopement, my partner and friends met up with us at the top of Aventura Hotel Bar for a sunset drink and we spent the rest of the evening doing ALL the haunted houses at Halloween Horror nights. What a day to remember!
CityWalk is the entertainment and retail area right outside the entrances to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure at the Orlando Universal Resort. After parking in the Universal garages, you will walk right through this area full of restaurants, bars, mini, golf, shopping, and even a movie theater. Voodoo Doughnuts is one of the newest additions to CityWalk.
Jodie and Alicia started their day together waking up in the beautiful Loews Pacific Resort. The couple got pampered with hair and makeup before putting on all of the beautiful details they had picked out for the day such as cute little matching black bat earrings, matching bat shoes, and matching bouquets with adorable little bats as well. They then hopped onto the shuttle boat at the hotel and rode right up to the steps of Voodoo doughnuts. Voodoo Doughnuts shut down the entire donut shop for the wedding ceremony so that the couple could have a private intimate wedding with up to 24 family and friends. The altar was their famous three-foot hand-made wooden coffin of doughnuts that you can fill with up to three dozen doughnuts. A Voodoo Doll custom bride doughnut was made to look like Jodie and Alicia, and Voodoo Doughnuts also made a large celebration heart doughnut for the couple!
After the extremely fun and alternative wedding inside Voodoo Doughnuts, the wedding party walked over to The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & and had a savory celebration feast! Toasts were made, and delicious lunch and brunch items were brought out and ordered individually for whatever each guest desired! When we had all the drinks and food that our stomach's could hold, we then walked into Universal Studios theme park and went straight to the Halloween Horror nights tribute store. This was the 30th year for HHN, and the brides played some of the carnival games and won the cutest little Frankenstein doll. After a quick boat ride back to the hotel and an afternoon nap, the newlywed couple spent the night at Halloween Horror nights having some spooky fun and scares with their closest friends!
